A copy of the Tiverton Canal Company lease is registered on the Gov.UK    Land registry website, therefore can be viewed from the link provided.

The rent is paid under a lease which started on 1st April 2015 and expires on 28th September 2020.

There was a rent review on 29th September 2017, but Devon County Council / NPS Group decided not to pursue any increase.

The rent has been the same since a rent review in the previous lease increased it from £6,750 to the present £7,400pa with effect from 29th September 2011.

A list of what the lease includes can be viewed from the link provided.

Point 1 in brackets should say (excluding buildings put up by Tiverton Canal Co).

The lease provides security of tenure to the tenant as it is covered by the Landlord & Tenant Act 1954. This gives the tenant a qualified right to renew the lease on each expiry.
