Procurement of New School Buildings

“Please can you supply with the name and email address of the individual responsible for monitoring the procurement of new school buildings within your district.  I am not after the person who monitors the procurement of the services required in the schools (stationary, computers, chairs etc) rather the person who is involved with the procurement of the construction or refurbishments works within the district.

The name and email address of the individual responsible for procurement of new maintained school buildings is Jon Williams – jon.williams@devon.gov.uk  and the manager responsible for monitoring the delivery of school works is Chris Dyer – chris.dyer@devon.gov.uk. Academy schools procure their own construction work.

Can you provide me with a list of new schools that have been built in your district since 2000 listing what procurement method was used for each one (PFi, capital investment, design and build, pre-existing framework agreement).”

Please refer to the list of new school builds since 2000 provided here.

Schools built under the Private Finance Initiative (PFI) or the Priority School Building Programme (PSPB) are shown within this table.

Information is not held for the remaining schools as the contracts are let on Devon County Council’s behalf by a third party (NPS).  However, we can confirm that these would have been allocated via traditional tendering methods or via a pre-existing framework agreement.  In general, builds which took place prior to 2012 would have fallen under traditional tendering with the more recent falling under pre-existing framework agreements.
