Do you use IMAs for as part of the application process and for any appeals, or only for appeals?
Independent Mobility Assessments (IMA’s) are used as part of the application process, as well as for appeals.
If they are used as part of the application process, how is this determined?
In the first instance the Blue Badge Team will consider whether there is sufficient information held on the Council’s systems to confirm the applicant’s eligibility.
If information held is inconclusive or the applicant is not already known to the Council, the applicant will be given opportunity to provide evidence to confirm their reported medical conditions which affect their mobility.
Where the applicant is unable to provide evidence to confirm their eligibility or if they are unable to provide any evidence they will be referred for a mobility assessment.
