National Transfer Scheme and DUBS

1.Devon County Council has agreed to participate in the National Transfer Scheme for unaccompanied asylum seeking children (UASC’s), however Section 67 of the Immigration Act 2016 (The ‘Dubs Amendment’) additionally requires the Government to relocate and make arrangements for the support of UASC’s from Europe under the separate ‘Dubs’ scheme. Since 31st May 2016 have you indicated to the Home Office any willingness to support UASC’s under the ‘Dubs’ Amendment?

2. If yes, how many unaccompanied asylum seeking children have you indicated a willingness to support in principle under the ‘Dubs’ Scheme?

We do hold information about the number of children taken in and then transferred onto the DUBS amendment when it transpired that they did not have family able to look after them in the UK , however we consider that to disclose that would potentially identify individuals and therefore we are withholding the information under Section 40 0f the Freedom of Information Act – Personal Information.

4. How many of the UASC’s in your care were relocated under the ‘Dubs’ Scheme, if any?
