In relation to trafficked children:

a) how many referrals did your local authority make to the National Referral Mechanism to report suspected cases of trafficking in relation to children?

DCC have no automated process for extracting this information at Referral Stage.

For 2016/17 DCC identified twenty three children identified as being at  risk of trafficking at Assessment stage out of over five thousand assessments authorised between 1/04/2016 – 31/03/2017. These figures are provisional subject to the completion of our Annual DfE CIN Census Statutory Return published in October/November of each year.
