Library use

I am writing to you under the Freedom of Information Act 2000 to request the following information from your library/libraries for the last year:

1) Which book gets taken out the most?

Night School by Lee Child
(Based on the previous 12 month period up to the start of August 2018)

2) Which book doesn’t get returned?

At any given point of time there may be a large number of books still on loan past their return date but which may eventually be returned weeks or even months later. It would be misleading to try to produce a list of books which have not been returned at a given point of time as they may be subsequently returned after the list is produced.  We therefore do not hold this information.

3) Which book gets checked out the least?

It is not possible to answer this question as there are likely to be a number of books which may not be taken out at all or only taken out once.  We therefore do not hold this information

4) What is the highest late fee you had to charge and for which book?

Charges for items which are returned overdue are capped at a maximum amount of £5.25 per item. This is for adult members. There are lower rates for people over 65, people with disabilities, and children.
