Further to the letter from the Secretary of State for Communities and Local Government to the Leader of Devon County Council dated January 2017 regarding the International Holocaust Remembrance Alliance (IHRA) definition of antisemitism.
Could you confirm that Devon County Council has adopted this definition into their local policies and if so, please provide a link to the decision.
Devon County Council has not formally adopted the definition into its policy framework, however it is a useful point of reference and will be referred to for training and other purposes. The County Council has an Equality Policy which covers all kinds of unacceptable behaviour, including racist language; use of anti-Semitic language would be covered by this policy. Devon County Council also supports the Devon and Cornwall Police campaign Zero Tolerance to Hate.
