Hardstanding Area of Highway at Shebbear

“With regard to the hardstanding area of Highway outside of properties 3 & 4 Valley View used for parking for properties 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, & 6 Valley View, Shebbear, EX21 5SE, I wish to know the following:-

1. Is the hardstanding area owned by Public Highways or private property owned by current Landlord

This area does not form part of the public highway. We understand it is owned by Torridge District Council.  In the interests of providing advice and assistance, contact details for Torridge District Council are provided here.

2. Are there any legal restriction for use of Hardstanding including size, type of vehicles allowed to park and including how should be parked.

This would need to be answered by the owner, Torridge District Council. Devon County Council (DCC) has no jurisdiction over this piece of land.

3. How much space should be left to allow people to enter from and in to communal property gates when cars have/will be parked for any reasons on the Hardstanding.

This would need to be answered by the owner, Torridge District Council. DCC has no jurisdiction over this piece of land.

4. As 1-6 Valley View are aged Restricted properties (including disability restricted) and Social Housing is there any parking restrictions/rules limiting use because i-of requirements of Health & safety and use of emergency access requirements.

This would need to be answered by the owner, Torridge District Council. DCC has no jurisdiction over this piece of land.

5. As the Hardstanding ever be made subject to Public Highway adoption and or does currently remain owned by Highways and if so Is Highways responsible for any enforcement related to its use.

This area is not adopted (nor to our knowledge ever has been) as part of the public highway and DCC is not responsible for any enforcement related to its use.
