In response to questions 3 and 4, to identify single compensation payments in individual years, given the available information which would identify possible injuries from road traffic injuries, would create a risk of identifying the individual concerned.

If the individual were identified, together with their compensation for their road traffic accident would be a disclosure of their personal information, as defined by the Data Protection Act 1998 and would be unfair to the individual concerned and therefore a breach of the first principle of data protection. This information is therefore exempt from disclosure pursuant to s.40(2) of the Freedom of Information Act 2000.
