Childrens social care complaints 2013- 2018

For each of the five financial years 13/14, 14/15, 15/16, 16/17, 17/18 What was the total number of complaints your council received about children’s social services? Please note, I’d like a breakdown for each financial year rather than a five-year total.

This information is publicly available via the following link; please scroll down to the bottom of the page where you can access the reports for each of the financial years mentioned. It is recommended that the reports for quarter 4 of each year are reviewed as these will provide the information requested.

As above, this information is available within the quarterly reports.

3. For each of the five financial years how many complaints were made about an assessment of a child or any other action taken by the council under section 17 of the Children Act?

We hold this information but would have to review 1400 individual complaints over the date range given. As each one would take five to ten minutes to review the total time required would be in excess of the 18 hours speificed under the freedom of Information Act 2000 Section 12  – Cost of Compliance. Therefore this information is exempt.

4. For each of the five financial years how many of these complaints were A: upheld B: partially upheld.
