We do not hold this information. We do not hold a list of young people aged 18 – 20 currently in Devon. We cannot compare lists of young people who were children in need or subject to Child Protection when 16 or 17 and are now aged 18 – 20 as we do not necessarily know they are still in Devon. The same applies to Looked After Children, with the additional complexity that there could be young adults within Devon who were in care under another Local Authority.
We are aware of a number of young adults who were DfE defined care leavers turning 18-20 (between 01/04/16 – 31/03/17) on the 2017 SSDA903 DfE LAC return. However, we cannot say if they are in Devon currently. There are a number of other 18-20 year olds who were in care while they were 16 or 17 who did not reach the qualification period to qualify them as a Care Leaver. We have no duty to have contact with them now and do not know where they are currently.
