Care Act and community equipment

Wirral Council currently provide equipment for the community through the contract we have and are exploring different ideas and opportunities to make efficiencies. The care act clearly states that we cannot charge for equipment less than £1000, but we are exploring the possibility of either charging for equipment over £1000 or putting a cap on the what the LA would contribute towards it.

To assist, I should be grateful if you would take a moment to respond to the questions below. If you could do this by Friday September 28th 2018 it would be much appreciated.

1. Do you charge for community equipment over £1000? If so what impact has it had?

No

2. Have you put a cap on the LA contribution towards community equipment? If so what impact has it had?

No
