Libraries: 35 / 50

Total aggregate opening hours for all static library service points in 2010 were 1,465.25 per week.

Changes to opening hours were made in 2011. 40 out of 50 libraries had their opening hours reduced. Total aggregate opening hours fell to 1,245.50 per week, a decrease of 15%.

15 libraries have seen an increase in opening hours since the changes in 2011. This is due to various reasons: library refurbishments, changes to staff rotas increased use of self-service technology, co-location of the library with other organisations, additional opening sessions supported by volunteers.

5 libraries have increased their opening hours beyond the level of 2010. 10 libraries have increased their opening hours but still not to the level of 2010. Currently, total aggregate opening hours are 1,383.00 per week, a decrease of 5.6% compared to 2010 but an 11% increase since the changes in 2011.
